Using Wikipedia for Projects

Page history last edited by FranciscoBurns 14 years, 3 months ago

This is a very practical page from Wikipedia which helps teachers plan and implement a Wikipedia project for their classes. The page link is here:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:School_and_university_projects

Here is the introduction from the page which explains how it works:

"If you are a professor or teacher at a school or university, we encourage you to use Wikipedia in your class as an example of an open content website that works (or doesn't). You are not the first person to do so, and many of these projects have resulted in both advancing the student's knowledge and useful content being added to Wikipedia. An advantage of this over regular homework is that the student is dealing with a real world situation, which is not only more educative but also makes it more interesting ("the world gets to see my work"), probably resulting in increased dedication. Besides, it will give the students a chance to collaborate on course notes and papers, and their effort will remain online for reference, instead of being discarded and forgotten as is usual with paper course-work."This is an opportunity for all especially students. This topic is all about paper writing, we will give some points and reminders on how to be an effective writer. Please check our site for more information and details.
